Popsister November 2011

Hey guys, just a post with the download link for the new Popsister. Saturday has a small shopping trip planned and I also have a few DIY projects that I'm working on that I'll have to take a few pictures of when I get the chance! But I will be honest, I won't be showing any face images for at least a week; my Mum bought a new brand of washing powder (that I wasn't aware of) and it's disagreed with me TERRIBLY. My skin is currently reminiscent of red scales and very itchy.

I haven't had a chance to do more than flick through a few pages, but it certainly looks promising! Download the issue HERE.

The latest season of AMC's Breaking Bad has also started to wrap up and it's freaking amazing! Watching right now and Walt is just....going insane lol. But more of that later on.

Until next time,

Long Time No See!

Afternoon everyone, just another small one from me today. I've been quite boring the last few days and grumpy, so it's meant holing up in my bedroom like a hermit reading fan fiction and watching Kirarin Revolution. Oh, my teachers would be so proud if they could have witnessed it. I did leave the house on Wednesday to visit my BFF Elfy, who was getting micro bead hair extensions put into her hair. While she dropped a few hundred bucks that day, I went home and ebay'ed the same extensions (to DIY is less than $100 for human hair) and Youtube'ed how to put them in. Guess who has an activity for next week? This girl!

But in happier news, I was able to get my hands on the download link for the new issue of Japanese Seventeen. I've never actually read the Japanese version (I'm subscribed to the US one, however) but the 2 uniformed girls on the front swayed me. Virtually flicking through it, it's a school special from the looks (which I love, cause although I'm not in high school, I still use stationery and such for uni) with uniforms, bags etc. Seeing the emphasis placed on uniforms and uniform inspired garments is also interesting, as quite a few school in Tokyo no longer have policies regarding school uniform. I've 'read' a CUTiE magazine school special and its helpful for everyday hair ideas, as these girls aren't trying to be kogal/gyaru, just everyday schoolgirls. A definate refresher from the dolly-eyed, bleached girls of EGG and Ranzuki.

Daily Tidbits:
- Not finding the download links for the October issue of Popteen is making me pull my hair out! Mizukitty is on the front cover.............ARGGGGGHHHHH.
- Strangly enough, I've started to eat more  and I've somehow lost weight? Not sure how my body is doing it but good body <3
- I tacked a new sign to our toilet door:
Please note this toilet is no longer a properly functioning entrance to the Ministry of Magic due to plumbing issues.'
- This sign was then tragically torn to shreds by my dear little kitten, who promptly coughed it up with a hairball on the carpet.
- As my revenge, he will be dressing as an anime cat butler for Halloween.
- Been listening to Chris Brown's Yeah x3 in bouts of 3.

That's about all for today, guys. I won't have an uploaded images of my own until Monday at least, as my housemate left for the weekend and took her camera batteries back :(

Until next time,

Mini Break!

Hey guys, just a quick shout out for now. The next few days are looking really hectic and I've also started to watch a new anime. So for now, I'm taking a mini break from blogging (as it was always so strenuous, hihi :P) and I'll be back with a good post!

Can you figure out the anime? :)

Until next time,

Hey guys! Just wanted to do a blog post today on NAILS!

I've been a nail biter for most of my entire life and have relied on things such as press ons and gel nails the last few years. As I became more into Japanese pop culture and fashion, I became aware of such things like decoden and nail bling. Every year there is a nail expo in Tokyo full of designs, new innovations etc. There are magazines JUST for nail decorations (all in Japanese of course, but the pictures provide kore than enough!) and small gadgets to help make everyday living easier for the nail wearer.

I'm currently in the midst of re-arranging my room, so I'll try and hunt down batteries later on and take some images! Oh and I'm also typing out a small product review to post later on as well.

Until next time,
xo Julia

EGG September

Hey guys, found the link for the September issue of EGG. As usual, download HERE.

Been really quiet here lately. I've been getting sick a lot more, so maybe its time to finally workout or something lah. I've also *finally* made my own Tumblr account to keep up with blogs, rather than just sit on my butt and go through my history (too much much porn.........JKS!) to see what ones I follow. In the next few days I'll compile a list of my favourite blogs, as Tumblr is the best for gyaru.

I've been quite lazy the last few days; done no school work, next to no cleaning (WHY DON'T I HAVE A MAID?!) and bugger all cooking. I did give an attempt to tidy my room today, but all of my clothes are just sitting on my bed for me to push off at bed time and my shoe shelves are dusted and organised. Priorities, people, priorities! Tomorrow is another weekday and I have to start studying again. Why don't I have a live in slave or someone to do my homework?

In more exciting news, one of my favourite bloggers, Xiaxue, did a room tour for ClickNetworkTV that was uploaded recently. As a fellow pink and Juicy Couture lover, I may or may not have wet myself in excitement for it. Her room is just so bloody cute! Watch it HERE. If your on the younger scale, Xiaxue isn't quite child-friendly.

Determined to take photos tomorrow of everything, I have been far too lazy and there is no excuse! Lol but I did find a very nice recipe for Custard Pudding I want to try tomorrow, so I'll show you guys my work and see if I'm the next Masterchef? Hihi :)

That's it for tonight, I'm afraid. Trying to get to bed and sleep before midnight so I don't sleep in til 11am everyday. I miss the morning cartoons!

Until next time,
xo Julia

Hey guys. I have been so absolutely shagged the last few days. Couple that with course work and watching a new anime, it doesn't really make an interesting blog post hihi. But I've been going through all of the scans I have for bento books and thought to post some! I've been making bento since 10th grade, but as I no longer go to high school and don't eat my lunch anywhere but here at home, I pretty much stopped making bento everyday when I graduated. I've been trying to ease myself back into it, as it means I eat much regularly and I always eat good things. I tend to be much more nocturnal and barely eat during the day, but when watching anime and doing course work at night, I always reach for the instant ramen and other 'snackables' that aren't good for me.

Bento is often shown online as being very cute and compact. It's something packed by mother's in Japan for their children to take to school and can also be a way of expressing affection for another. In recent years its become quite popular over in the West. Livejournal has a community dedicated to it and there are numerous sites (including trusty eBay!) that sell boxes and accessories. There are so many blogs for it that its gotten so very easy to find inspiration and drool on your keyboard........or is that just me hihi?

Please note, I've found these scans from all over the place and only a small fraction are on the cuter part of the bento spectrum. I find it very easy to locate cute bento online, but a much more simple, basic bento are harder to come by and less time consuming to make. So without further ado, I present to you my collection of bento book scans.

And that's it! As always, click to make them bigger. I'm off for now; the new anime I've been watching is Hellsing and you can't keep pausing and playing it. Been on a real violent kick for everything lately, maybe its just my subconscious getting reading for Gears of War 3?

Until next time,
xo Julia
